The Field Safety Representative (FSR) is responsible for overseeing and ensuring the safety of all personnel and operations at various job sites. This role involves conducting regular safety inspections, enforcing safety regulations, and providing training to employees. The FSR plays a critical role in identifying potential hazards, mitigating risks, and promoting a culture of safety throughout the organization.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Field Safety Representative to join our team. The FSR will be responsible for overseeing safety practices on-site, ensuring compliance with all safety regulations, and fostering a safe working environment. This position involves regular travel to various job sites and requires strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety Compliance: Ensure that all safety regulations, policies, and procedures are followed on-site, including OSHA standards and company-specific guidelines.
  • Site Inspections: Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of job sites, identifying potential hazards, and recommending corrective actions.
  • Incident Reporting: Investigate and report any accidents, incidents, or near misses, and work with management to implement corrective measures.
  • Training: Conduct safety training sessions for employees, including orientation for new hires, toolbox talks, and refresher courses.
  • Safety Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date safety records, including inspection reports, incident logs, and training records.
  • Emergency Preparedness: Develop and implement emergency response plans, ensuring all site personnel are familiar with procedures.
  • Risk Assessment: Conduct risk assessments to identify potential hazards and develop strategies to mitigate risks.
  • Safety Equipment Management: Ensure that all safety equipment is properly maintained, inspected, and available for use.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with site supervisors, project managers, and other stakeholders to promote a culture of safety.
  • Regulatory Updates: Stay informed about the latest safety regulations and industry standards, and update company policies as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, or related field preferred
  • Experience: 0 years if Education requirement is met. 5 years if Education requirement is not met.
  • Certifications: OSHA 30, First Aid/CPR Certified, or other relevant safety certifications preferred
  • Skills:
    • Strong knowledge of safety regulations and best practices.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Ability to work independently and make decisions in high-pressure situations.
    • Strong organizational and time management skills.
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to travel to various job sites.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, and climb for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift and carry safety equipment.

Additional Information:

  • Travel: Locally 80%, Overnight 20%
  • Work Environment: You will be exposed to the oil and gas, chemical, heavy industrial, and renewable fuels industry. Work locations are exposed to the elements with differing exposure conditions.
 

Compensation

$28 - $35 per hour
