Position Summary

The HVAC Apprentice supports lead technicians in the installation, maintenance, and repair of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems. This role is hands-on and requires a strong work ethic, willingness to learn, and the ability to follow direction. The goal is to develop the skills needed to become a qualified HVAC technician.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with installation of HVAC systems (residential and/or commercial)

• Support troubleshooting and repair work under supervision

• Help with preventive maintenance and service calls

• Carry tools, materials, and maintain a clean, organized job site

• Follow instructions from lead technicians and supervisors

• Learn to read blueprints, schematics, and wiring diagrams

• Assist with equipment startup and testing

• Maintain accurate work logs and documentation

• Follow all safety procedures and company policies

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred

• Enrolled in or willing to enroll in an HVAC training program (preferred)

• Basic mechanical aptitude

• Ability to use hand and power tools

• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in physically demanding conditions

• Willingness to work in heat, cold, tight spaces, and heights

Work Environment

• Job sites include residential, commercial, and construction environments

This is an entry-level position with a clear path to:

• HVAC Technician

• Lead Technician

• Foreman or Supervisor (with experience)

Performance, reliability, and skill development will determine advancement.
